We’ve been talking to Patrick McCullagh from Autolifers online for YEARS now. Before he started his own site, he did a few freelance contributions to our MotorMavens site when he still lived in Europe. Happy 8/6 Everyone! We’re happy to announce our partnership with Speedhunters, where we will be posting updates on our 86FEST Project AE86 that’s being built at RSPEC Auto in Van Nuys CA. Right now, the car is a rolling shell, but we will be documenting the build process step-by-step, and posting updates on the car and parts used in the build.

Speedhunters drove their Rocket Bunny KM4SH Scion FRS all the way from Arizona to have the car displayed at 86FEST, and if you think that’s far away, we had people coming from as far as Florida, New Hampshire, Japan, and Thailand! In honor of our FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, we’re celebrating by introducing the 86FEST Challenge presented by Disc Brakes Australia, a One-Make Racing event with All-AE86 and All-FRS/BRZ driving groups running the Auto Club Speedway Infield Course in Fontana CA on Saturday August 6, 2016.
One group will be entirely comprised of old school Toyota 86 drivers behind the wheel of a classic AE86 chassis Corolla GTS, Sprinter Trueno, or Corolla Levin.
The other group will be entirely comprised of the new 86 chassis, aka Toyota 86, Scion FRS, and Subaru BRZ. These drivers will be a mixture of 86Cup competition drivers and weekend warriors with track prepared street cars!
Join us at 86FEST presented by Turn14 on 8/6 in Fontana, and join all the other 86 fans in cheering on the army of new and old 86 vehicles competing in the DBA USA 86FEST Challenge!
